American Public Television Series Reconnecting Roots and Lidia’s Kitchen Host Lidia Bastianich Honored at 51st Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards
Two Creative Arts & Lifestyle awards given to “Reconnecting Roots” for Writing and Original SongLidia Bastianich honored with Lifetime Achievement Award
BOSTON, MA (June 10, 2024) – Reconnecting Roots and Lidia’s Kitchen host Lidia Bastianich were honored during the 51st annual Daytime Emmy® and Daytime Emmy® Create Arts & Lifestyle awards ceremony held on June 7th and 8th. Reconnecting Roots and Lidia’s Kitchen, presented by South Carolina ETV (SCETV) and GBH Boston respectively, are distributed by American Public Television (APT), the leading syndicator of content to U.S. public TV stations nationwide.

Reconnecting Roots, now available to stream via PBS.org and the PBS App, received two Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmy® Awards for Outstanding Writing Team for a Daytime Non-Fiction Program, as well as Outstanding Original Song. Currently in its third season, Reconnecting Roots hosted by Gabe McCauley features stories told through music, history and exploration — tracing America’s roots of progress from then to now, and how.
The Daytime Emmy® Lifetime Achievement Honor was bestowed to author and restaurateur Lidia Bastianich, host of the Emmy® Award-winning cooking series Lidia’s Kitchen and Lidia’s Italy, filmed from her own kitchen for the past 25 years.
